朝のお絵描き，昼のお絵描き（ハッチング（hatching/hachures）練習）

　最近はお絵描きを始めました．会社に着いて，始業までの数分と，昼休みの食後の時間をお絵描きに使ってます．初めは勉強とかしてるノートの端に描こうと思ってましたが，自由帳を買おうと思います．描くなら大きい方が楽しいですからね．それに小さいスペースにボールペンで描くとグチャグチャになりそうになります．
　そして，最近iPadでしか描いてないので，ペンで描くの楽しいです．未だに人を書く練習してますが，どうしても服装がシンプルなのになってしまうので，インスタのストーリーで見つけた可愛い服を描くのにハマってます．服のしわの練習にもなりますしね．
　それから，黒ペンしかないし，ハッチングしてますが，ハッチングも前より上手くなりました．正確には，あ～やっぱり細かく描かないと陰っぽく見えんって気付いたんですが．

　デジタルもアナログもそれぞれで良さがあって，それぞれがそれぞれの練習になるとは聞いてましたが，その通りみたい？お絵描きチャンスが増えたので，どんどん描いていこうと思います！と言いつつ，9月から遠地で研修ですが．

　ちなみに，ハッチングは，ヨーロッパの中世からルネサンスにかけて発展した技法で，版画や彫刻で重要な役割を果たしていたみたいです．
　18世紀からは，肖像画や風景画でも精密なハッチングは使用され，近代ではペン画やイラストでも広く使われるようになったそうです．

　高校の美術の時間に習ったのは，ハッチングは直線をどれだけ濃く重ねるかだけですね．シングルハッチングとクロスハッチングに当たります．
　しかし，曲線を使うコントゥールハッチングやランダムハッチングもあるそうですね．コントゥールは立体を強調するのに使うそうで無意識にやってることありますが，ランダムハッチングという雑な線を重ねるのもあるみたいです．粗い質感や柔らかな陰影を作り出す．．．本当？今度意識してやってみます．

Recently, I’ve started drawing. At work, I use the few minutes before the morning shift begins, and the time after lunch during my break, to sketch.
At first, I thought I’d just draw in the margins of the notebooks I use for studying, but now I think I’ll buy a sketchbook. It’s simply more fun to draw on a larger space. Also, if I try to draw with a ballpoint pen in a small corner, things tend to get messy.

Since I’ve only been drawing on my iPad recently, it actually feels refreshing and fun to use a real pen again. I’m still practicing drawing people, but for some reason the clothes I draw always end up too simple. Lately, I’ve been hooked on sketching cute outfits I see in Instagram stories. It also gives me practice in drawing folds in clothing.

Right now I only have a black pen, so I’ve been using hatching. I’ve realized that you really need to draw fine, detailed lines to make shading look convincing—and I think I’m improving compared to before.

I’ve always heard that digital and traditional drawing both have their strengths, and that practicing one helps improve the other. It seems to be true! Now that I’ve found more opportunities to draw, I plan to keep at it—though, starting in September, I’ll be away for training.

By the way, “hatching” is a technique that developed in Europe between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, playing an important role in engraving and printmaking. From the 18th century, precise hatching was also widely used in portrait and landscape drawing, and in modern times, it’s become common in pen illustrations and artworks.

In high school art class, I only learned the basics: single hatching and cross-hatching—essentially layering straight lines for darker tones.
But it turns out there are also techniques like contour hatching, which uses curved lines to emphasize form, and random hatching, which layers rough strokes to create texture or soft shading. Interesting, right? Next time I’ll try them consciously.

Dernièrement, j’ai commencé à dessiner. Au travail, j’utilise les quelques minutes avant le début de la journée et le temps après le déjeuner pour faire des croquis.
Au départ, je pensais griffonner simplement dans la marge de mes cahiers d’étude, mais finalement je vais acheter un cahier de dessin. C’est bien plus amusant de dessiner sur un grand espace. En plus, avec un stylo à bille sur un petit coin de page, ça devient vite brouillon.

Comme je dessinais uniquement sur iPad ces derniers temps, c’est agréable et rafraîchissant de reprendre le stylo. J’en suis toujours à m’entraîner à dessiner des personnages, mais mes vêtements finissent toujours trop simples. Alors maintenant, je m’amuse à reproduire les jolies tenues que je vois dans les stories Instagram. Ça me fait aussi pratiquer les plis du tissu.

Je n’ai qu’un stylo noir, donc j’utilise le hatching (hachures). J’ai compris qu’il fallait vraiment tracer des traits très fins et détaillés pour donner l’illusion de l’ombre. Et je crois que je m’améliore par rapport à avant.

On dit souvent que le dessin numérique et le dessin traditionnel ont chacun leurs qualités, et que pratiquer l’un aide pour l’autre. Eh bien, je crois que c’est vrai ! Comme j’ai maintenant plus d’occasions de dessiner, je vais continuer à fond… même si, à partir de septembre, je pars en stage loin d’ici.

Au fait, les hachures sont une technique développée en Europe, du Moyen Âge à la Renaissance, où elles jouaient un rôle important dans la gravure et l’estampe. À partir du XVIIIᵉ siècle, les hachures précises furent utilisées aussi dans les portraits et paysages, puis à l’époque moderne elles sont devenues courantes dans le dessin à la plume et l’illustration.

Au lycée, en cours d’arts plastiques, je n’ai appris que les bases : les hachures simples et croisées, c’est-à-dire superposer des lignes droites pour foncer les zones.
Mais il existe aussi le contour hatching, qui utilise des courbes pour renforcer le volume, et le random hatching, qui superpose des traits irréguliers pour créer une texture brute ou un ombrage doux. Intéressant, non ? Je vais essayer ça la prochaine fois.
