10週間のファイナルダイブです．計5回のダイブの最後は錦江湾ボートダイブ．
　沖小島というダイブスポットまでボートで行き，レンタルしたドライスーツで潜ります．ウェットのウェイトは減らしまくりましたが，ドライはまだ調整不足．しかも久しぶり．結構やりにくかったですが，二回潜って，二回とも大軍を見れました．
　すごいです．錦江湾の透明度は水深30mで10mちょっと，結構見えます．結構見えますが，イサキを一匹一匹視認する事が難しい．それぐらい速いしめちゃくちゃたくさんいます．集合体恐怖症の人は見れないぐらいいます．迫力と高速道路を目の前に呆然としてしまう感じが凄い．イサキの他にもカンパチとブリも混じっていたそう．一匹一匹冷静に観察できん群大興奮でした．
　それが，30ｍを超える真っ暗闇に入ったり，出たり，ウェイト調整しっかりしてから絶対リベンジしたいです．闇はホントに真っ暗です．エア節約しようと思って，なかなかBCDに入れ悩んでると怖いぐらいで楽しいです！！あんな海また潜りたいです．
　来年以降もどんどん潜っていこうと思います．
　婚活もしますが，この年だとお金しか見られないので，まあ人生外れ組や～という感じはつよいですが，他の趣味はがっつり楽しんでいきます！
　深淵でイサキの群れを見た後は，浅場って言っても10mはありますが，でネジリンボウ見ました．久しぶりに見た錦江湾のアイドル．こっちも興奮です．
　鹿児島にはまた夏に潜りに来ようと思ってますが，その時は恐らく南さつまメインになるので，ネジリンボウはしばらくお預けですかね．
　ここで見た魚たち，しっかり思い出に刻んでいきます．
　魚たちって言いましたが，イイジマフクロウニも熱いです．タイヤみたいな見た目の不思議なウニですが猛毒の持ち主．まるで，人をあの世に運ぶ火車です．そして，そこで暮らしてる，ヤドリニナという巻貝が凄い．宿りの名通り，猛毒のウニの上に宿を取り身を守ってます．多分片利共生の例．
　でも，毒の上にいるだけで十分な気もする．すごいやつです．

　何も関係ないですが，日曜日に買ったミカンにカビが生えてました．
　複数買うと，必ずそうなるの何故？
スーパー余談でした．

This was my final dive in Kagoshima during my training period — and what a way to finish.
In Kinkō Bay, I saw a massive school of grunt (isaki). Honestly, it was a bit terrifying.

It was the last of my five dives over these ten weeks, and for the finale we headed out by boat to a spot called Okinokojima. I rented a dry suit for the dive. I’d reduced my weight a lot when diving with a wetsuit, but my dry-suit balance is still far from perfect — and it had been a while. It felt awkward, but I managed two dives… and both times, I saw a huge school.

It was incredible.
The visibility in Kinkō Bay was about 10 metres at a depth of 30 metres — better than I expected. Better, yet still not enough to make out each fish individually, because the isaki were unbelievably fast and unbelievably numerous. If you have trypophobia, this is absolutely not for you.
The sheer mass of them felt like staring at a motorway — overwhelming yet awe-inspiring. Apparently some amberjack and yellowtail were mixed in too. The school was so dense I couldn’t calmly observe a single one, but that chaos just made it even more exciting.

At one point we dipped into a pitch-black layer below 30 metres. Proper darkness.
I want to go back once I’ve sorted my weighting — that darkness is scary in the best possible way. When you’re hesitating about adding air to your BCD because you want to save gas, it becomes this thrilling, almost frightening moment. I’d love to dive that sea again.

I’ll definitely keep diving next year and beyond.
I’ll also continue my attempts at dating, though at my age I feel like people mostly look at your income… so yes, I do feel like I’m playing life on “hard mode”, but I’ll enjoy my hobbies to the fullest anyway!

After the deep-dive isaki madness, we moved to a shallower area — still about 10 metres — and spotted the iconic shrimp goby, the Nejirimbō. Kagoshima’s little idol. Seeing it again was another rush of excitement.

I’m planning to come back in summer, but I’ll probably dive mainly in Minamisatsuma then, so I might not see Nejirimbō for a while.
Still, I’ll keep all these memories — and all these creatures — with me.

Speaking of creatures, the Iijima’s sea urchin was amazing too. It looks like a rubber tyre, completely bizarre, and is highly venomous — like a wheel that carries you straight into the afterlife. And on top of it lives the parasitic sea snail, Yadorinina. True to its name, it shelters on the deadly urchin for protection. Probably a case of commensalism — though honestly, just staying on top of poison seems like advantage enough. Wild creatures.

Completely unrelated, but the mandarins I bought on Sunday already grew mould.
Why does that always happen when I buy several?

C’était ma dernière plongée à Kagoshima pendant ma période de formation — et quelle fin.
Dans la baie de Kinkō, j’ai vu un gigantesque banc d’isaki. Franchement, c’était presque effrayant.

C’était la cinquième et dernière plongée de ces dix semaines. Pour conclure, nous sommes partis en bateau vers un site appelé Okinokojima. J’avais loué une combinaison étanche.
J’ai beaucoup réduit mon lest pour les plongées en humide, mais avec une étanche, je ne maîtrise pas encore très bien — et cela faisait longtemps. C’était un peu galère, mais j’ai fait deux plongées… et j’ai vu un banc massif à chaque fois.

C’était incroyable.
La visibilité dans la baie était d’environ dix mètres à trente mètres de profondeur — mieux que prévu. Mieux, mais pas assez pour voir chaque poisson : les isaki étaient trop rapides et bien trop nombreux. Si vous êtes trypophobe, oubliez tout de suite.
L’amas ressemblait presque à une autoroute vivante — impressionnant et écrasant. Apparemment, des sériole et du buri s’y mêlaient aussi. Le banc était si dense qu’il était impossible d’observer un individu, mais cette impossibilité rendait la scène encore plus excitante.

À un moment, nous sommes descendus dans une zone totalement noire, en dessous des trente mètres. Une vraie obscurité.
Je veux absolument y retourner après avoir réglé mon lest : cette obscurité fait peur, mais d’une manière délicieuse. Quand tu hésites à ajouter de l’air dans ton gilet pour économiser ton gaz, c’est un mélange de peur et de plaisir. J’ai envie de replonger dans cette mer.

Je continuerai à plonger l’année prochaine, c’est sûr.
Et je continuerai aussi le côté “rencontres”, même si à mon âge, j’ai parfois l’impression qu’on ne regarde que ton revenu… Du coup, oui, j’ai un peu l’impression d’être dans la “catégorie difficile” de la vie, mais je profiterai de mes passions à fond !

Après l’excitation profonde du banc d’isaki, nous sommes allés vers une zone plus “peu profonde” — dix mètres quand même — et j’ai revu le célèbre gobie Nejirimbō, l’idole de la baie de Kinkō. Toujours aussi chouette à observer.

Je compte revenir l’été prochain, probablement plutôt dans le secteur de Minamisatsuma, donc je ne verrai peut-être pas Nejirimbō avant un moment.
Mais je garderai bien en mémoire tous ces poissons et toutes ces créatures.

En parlant de créatures : l’oursin d’Iijima était incroyable lui aussi.
On dirait un pneu en caoutchouc, totalement étrange, et il est extrêmement venimeux — comme une roue prête à t’emmener dans l’autre monde. Et dessus vit un escargot marin, la Yadorinina, qui se protège en s’installant sur ce support toxique. Probablement un exemple de commensalisme — même si, à mon avis, être simplement posé sur du poison est déjà une sacrée protection. Quel monde fascinant.

Et rien à voir, mais les mandarines que j’ai achetées dimanche ont déjà moisi.
Pourquoi ça arrive toujours quand j’en prends plusieurs ?
